The Magic Kingdom - Page 2
Fantasyland

Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom.
Standing 185 ft tall at the entrance of Fantasyland is Cinderella's Castle and
is probably the most well known landmark in Walt Disney World.
It is not so well known that there are bedrooms in there and furnished to high
standard. It was designed like that as a place for Walt Disney to sleep during
his time overseeing the building of the Magic Kingdom. sadly this wasn't to be
as he died before it was complete.
His Brother Roy. O. Disney carried on the work.
During the year of a million dreams celebration a few lucky guests were
approached and asked if they would like to stay in the castle overnight.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Dumbo is a Disney character known and loved by many small children and this part of the park would not be complete
without a ride in his name. It was added to the park in 1971 so it is getting on
in years but still as popular as ever judging by the long lines for it.

It's a Small World
Nothing could be more enjoyable for the small kids than this ride at
Fantasyland. It's a Small World has animated dolls dressed in national costume
with backdrops of their countries features and landmarks as you float through a
waterway to the tune of "It's a small, small world" I can assure you that you
will be fed up of hearing it by the end of the ride and it may haunt you all day
long!

Peter Pan's Flight
Always a popular ride at the Magic kingdom is Peter Pan's Flight. It was built
when the park opened back in 1971 and nothing has changed on the ride since.
There is always a line for this ride so it is advisable to get a fast pass if
you really want to ride it.
Other rides and attractions in fantasyland are:
- Mad Hatters Tea Party
- Snow Whites Scary Adventures
- Pooh's Playful Spot
- Arial's Grotto
Adventureland

Pirates of the Caribbean
Originally built in 1973 this ride has been updated a little to include the famous
"Jack Sparrow". The part was played by Johnny Depp in the Disney movie
of the same name. There are 3 times that he appears on the ride and does
bear an uncanny likeness to Depp's character. The ride itself contains
many animatronics and is an entertaining ride. "Yo Ho Ho Ho a
pirates life for me" is the song you hear throughout the ride. It
starts with you boarding a boat that holds about 30 people and you sail
off through an entrance to a cave. You then wind your way along a canal
and are presented with various scenes.

The Jungle Cruise
This is an older ride, it was built for when the park opened. Walt Disney
actually wanted real animals in this ride but found that it was too difficult to
contain them. It is starting to become pretty dated now but many people still
enjoy it. On the way round the ride look out for the other half of the airplane
that appears in The Great Movie Ride on the Humphrey Bogart set in Disney's
Hollywood Studios.
