Sea World's Aquatica
Aquatica Water Park
After visiting Sea Worlds Aquatica in Orlando for the first time I have to admit
that I was a little disappointed.
It seemed smaller than I imagined and a little cluttered especially where the
sun loungers were. The water park has an Australian theme
with all signage and announcements done with Aussie accents.
One difference with this water park as opposed to the others such as Blizzard
beach and Typhoon Lagoon is that you have to pay a $10 parking fee which I
believe is wrong on top of the $38.95 admission price.

Aquatica Dolphin Plunge
One of the first attractions you come across when you enter the park is the
Dolphin Plunge. This is the featured slide where part of the twin tubes is
transparent and they submerge beneath the pool containing Four Commersons
Dolphins. It has to be said though, at the rate you travel through the tubes
don’t bank on spotting one of them!

Aquatica
There are 3 eating places inside the park. One of them is quite different, the
Banana Beach Cookout, here you can pay for one visit or take advantage of an all
day pass. However, it hasn’t had good reviews regarding the food quality and
variety. The cost is $19.95 for adults and $12.95 for children. It also includes
unlimited Pepsi products. The remaining two eating places are said to have
better food and indeed I went to Mango Market, I did only have some cheesecake
but my wife had the beef sandwich and both were enjoyable. The third place to
eat is Waterstone Grill where you can get burgers and hot dogs etc.
For smokers you will only find 2 smoking places tucked well out of the way.
The beach area where the sun loungers are seemed too uniform for me, with row
upon row of them curving round facing the two wave pools. Speaking of which if
you have experienced the wave pool of Typhoon Lagoon then you will be
disappointed. They just give choppy waters periodically and seem quite small,
The Rides/Slides.
Dolphin Plunge - the park's featured attraction, these two enclosed tube slides
pass through a pool containing 4 Commerson's Dolphins.
Taumata Racer - an eight-lane racing slide with guests sliding down on mats
through enclosed and open sections.
Whanau Way - a tower with four twin-raft slides
Tassie's Twisters - a pair of funnel-like slides that can be ridden in single or
double rafts that drop you into Loggerhead Lane.
Walhalla Wave - a twisty slide with enclosed, dark sections.
HooRoo Run - sharing a tower with Walhalla Wave, this triple-dip slide is short
and fast and you are supposed to shout ROOHOO on the way down.
Lazy Rivers
Roa's Rapids - a faster, aggressive version of the lazy river with geysers and
speed zones. I really liked this one it is great fun if a little difficult to
get out of it! Children under a certain height (51”) must wear a life jacket.
Loggerhead Lane - a traditional lazy river that passes through a grotto of
cichlids and the Commerson's dolphin exhibit. Can get a little congested.
All in all it is great for the kids and the more energetic adults.
